We may disclose your personal information if required to do so by law or if we believe that such action is necessary to prevent fraud or cyber-crime or to protect the Websites or any Application or the rights, property or personal safety of any person.

Child safety

Protecting the safety of children when they use the Internet is very important to us. We recommend that children receive permission from their parent or guardian before gaining access to the Websites or any Application or sending personal information to us or anyone else online.

External links

The Websites and Applications may, from time to time, contain links to external Websites. We are not responsible for the Privacy Policies or the content of such Websites.

Security

We place great importance on the security of all personally identifiable information associated with our users. We have security measures in place to attempt to protect against the loss, misuse and alteration of personal information under our control. For example, our Privacy Policy is periodically reviewed and enhanced as necessary and only authorised personnel have access to personal information. Whilst we cannot ensure or guarantee that loss, misuse or alteration of information will never occur, we use all reasonable efforts to prevent it.

You should bear in mind that submission of information over the Internet is never entirely secure. We cannot guarantee the security of information you submit via the Websites or any Application whilst it is in transit over the Internet and any such submission is at your own risk.

It is advisable to close your browser and log out when you have finished your user session to help ensure others do not access your personal information if you use a shared computer or a computer in a public place.

Information submitted by you may be transferred by us to our other offices and/or to the third-parties mentioned in the circumstances described above (see Information Sharing).

Your rights

You have a legal right under the Data Protection Act 2018 to a copy of all the personal information about you held by us. On request, we will provide you with a copy of this information. You also have a right to correct any errors in that information. As mentioned above, you have a right to prevent the use of your personal information for direct marketing purposes.

Cookies

The Chairman’s Bao uses Cookies.

Cookies are pieces of information that a Website transfers to your computer hard drive or mobile device to store and sometimes track information about you. Although they do identify a user’s computer, Cookies do not personally identify users. Cookies are specific to the server that created them and cannot be accessed by other servers, which means they cannot be used to track your movements around the Internet. It is important to understand that any of our current or future partners or third-party vendors may also employ them.

Cookies used by The Chairman’s Bao, our partners or third-party vendors are used to:

  • Remember that you have visited the Website before; this means the organisation using Cookies can identify the number of unique visitors they receive. This allows them to make sure they have enough capacity for the number of users that they get;

  • Customise elements of the promotional layout and/or content of the pages of their Webs;

  • Collect anonymous statistical information about how you use their Websites, including how long you spend using their services and where you have come to their Websites from. This allows them to improve their services and learn which parts of their Websites are most popular with users;

  • Gather information about the pages on their Websites that you visit, and also other information about other Websites that you visit, so as to place you in a “market segment”;

  • This information is only collected by reference to the IP address that you are using, but does include information about the county and city you are in, together with the name of your Internet service provider;

  • This information is then used to place interest-based advertisements on their Websites which it is believed will be relevant to your market segment

Most web and mobile device browsers automatically accept Cookies but, if you prefer, you can change your browser to prevent that or to notify you each time a cookie is set. You can learn more about Cookies by visiting www.allaboutCookies.org, which includes additional useful information on Cookies and how to block Cookies using different types of browsers or mobile devices. Please note, however, that by blocking or deleting Cookies used on Websites, you may not be able to take full advantage of the Websites (as the case may be).

In addition to Cookies, tracking Gifs may be employed by our partners or other third-parties in respect of your use of their Websites. Tracking Gifs are small image files within the content of their Websites or the body of their newsletters so that they can understand which parts of the Websites are visited and which functions of the Applications are used and whether particular content is of interest.
